University of Navarra graduates participate in the production of the most expensive film in Spanish cinema
Planet 51' was released last Friday, November 27th.
Amaia Markuleta, Miguel Pablos, Carmen Lucena, Sebastian Kaufman, Javier Hernaez and José María de la Puente, graduates of School of Communication at the University of Navarra, have participated in the shooting of the animated film 'Planet 51', the most expensive production of Spanish cinema, which premiered in Spain last Friday, November 27. In addition, Luis Piedrahita and Rodrigo Sopeña, also alumni of the School, collaborated in the rewriting of the script.
"I joined the studio when the film was still in pre-production, so I have lived the day-to-day of impressive technical and visual developments: deciding the shape, color, texture or density that the smoke would adopt when coming out of the exhaust pipe of a car; defining the subject of movement that the leaves in the trees would have; or setting in motion large scenes full of explosions and lighting effects," explains Amaia Markuleta. To this she adds that "the work 3D processes are very technical and require millimetric coordination between Departments ".
'Planet 51' is an alien adventure comedy about an American astronaut, Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker, who lands on Planet 51, thinking he is the first to set foot on it. To his surprise, he discovers that it is inhabited by green beings with antennae, living in a world reminiscent of 1950s America, whose only fear is being invaded by 'aliens' like Chuck. With the financial aid of Lem and his friends, Chuck tries to return safely to his spaceship, before being captured.
The film is produced by Illion Animation Studios and HandMade Films and directed by Jorge Blanco, with Javier Abad and Marcos Martínez as co-directors.
