The project Horizon 2015 includes the creation of a new Business Incubator, with the goal to promote all business initiatives that may arise from the centers of research framed in Horizon 2015.
The aim is for the valorization and transfer of results to be as dynamic and effective as possible during the development of their projects and to lead to the creation of new companies, the improvement of the competitiveness of existing ones or the possibility of licensing new products to industry.
In this way, it will contribute to generate more employment and economic dynamism, mainly in the region. Precisely, the University of Navarra has been integrated in the Moderna Plan, a bet for a new productive model promoted by the main political, economic and social agents of Navarra.
The project promotes a transfer not only of subject technological but also cultural. The Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of Navarra will make its art collection available to society - Navarre and internationally - which brings together the Huarte Collection (with works by Rothko, Picasso and Tapiès among others) and the Photographic Fund (with more than 8,000 photographs that includes the best collection of the nineteenth century on Spain). The building, whose construction will begin at the end of 2011, is a project of the architect Rafael Moneo, and it will be used for both professor and research.
Talent researcher and professor united
The commitment to talent covers two areas: professor and researcher. The aim is to improve the quality of teaching through a greater commitment to research. Horizon 2015 will improve the internationalization of the professor corps. It is planned to move to plenary session of the Executive Council bilingualism in more than 60% of Degrees and postgraduates. This will help to further increase the rate of international students (currently the highest among Spanish universities) from 14% today to 25% by 2015.
Specific measures are taken to improve the quality professor: accreditation processes and internal quality assurance systems (certified by the National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation) that will make an exhaustive follow-up of the dedication professor (new rules and regulations of the academic staff); the follow-up of the study plans recently adapted to the EHEA (elaboration of Teaching Guides for each subject); training of the new doctors (School of teaching University); etc.
The project seeks to reinforce the training of talent in the classrooms of the University of Navarra. The aim is a teaching oriented to train to student with a view to their subsequent professional degree program . Specifically, two tools are promoted: one is the staff advice, a subject mentoring system available to each student, which has been applied since the beginning of the University. The other is the Entrepreneurs Club, an initiative promoted jointly by the Foundation business University of Navarra, the Chamber of Commerce of Navarra and the CEN (Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Navarra), which provides training to students at area for the creation of companies and the development of business plans.
Finally, the University is also working on a sustainable model of Campus , whose objectives are: the environmental management , the incorporation of strategic and technical solutions that affect the pollution of its environment; energy saving and efficiency; the management of road and pedestrian traffic, and the promotion of alternative transport such as the bicycle lane. At final the aim is for campus of the University to continue to be a large park, with improved facilities so that citizens can enjoy a unique ecological environment.
