11 containers of clothes, 7 food baskets, 129 gifts for children at risk of social exclusion, 82 Christmas baskets and 1200 euros for heaters and humidifiers for families affected by the DANA in Valencia. These are the figures left by the Christmas campaigns organized by Tantaka, the Solidarity Time Bank of the University of Navarra.

The 11 containers of clothes collected have been donated to 40 families of the Maria Inmaculada Social Center, which also received 126 gifts from the solidarity forest for children in status of vulnerability. This campaign was joined by the residents of the high school Mayor Olabidea, who sponsored children from Villa Teresita with three solidarity gifts. In addition, thanks to the efforts of the area of Diets of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, in partnership with Tantaka, 7 personalized Christmas baskets were donated to these same families.

For their part, the families affected by Dana in the Valencian Community have been the focus of several solidarity initiatives of the academic center. The Christmas basket campaign "Navidad Valenciana" was carried out through micro-donations at campus in Pamplona, Madrid and San Sebastian. With the funds raised, hampers were ordered from Amossos, a small business in Valencia, which included products from local businesses affected by the Dana, such as a white wine from the Utiel-Requena area, among others. The baskets were delivered to the parish of Paiporta, which was in charge of distributing them among the families, bringing illusion and hope.

In addition, with the arrival of the cold weather, 1200 euros were raised for the purchase of heaters and humidifiers for the affected areas. This amount was obtained thanks to a group of students from the School of Medicine, as part of their initiative to work in the recovery efforts of the affected areas, and to the fundraising carried out during the ISSA School of Applied Management's patron saint day. Through the NGO Family Up, resources are reaching families who need it most.

The campus in Madrid has also promoted various activities for Christmas, including a solidarity tree, where 45 gifts were collected for disadvantaged people in the neighborhood. In addition, students and employees have written personalized letters to the residents of Monteparís, who have also been entertained with Christmas carols and accompanied to see the nativity scene at the Clinic's headquarters in Madrid.

Nativity Scene Contest

On the other hand, as part of the Christmas activities, the University of Navarra held the submission awards ceremony for its traditional Nativity Scene Contest. The winner was the area de Ciencias-interfacultades, which also won the award for the most voted nativity scene online. The second award went to the Endoscopy Unit of the Clinic and the third, to the Joint Service of Health & Safety Office. The jury also awarded a runner-up prize to the Writing Center of the School de Philosophy y Letras.

Out of competition, a special award was awarded to the Clínica's residential center and hospital pedagogy unit.
