About 2,500 people participated last Sunday in the II Solidarity Walk "Murchante moves against cancer", organized by the Club Patín de Murchante, the association of Women Albahaca and the City Council of the town. The event counted with the main partnership of three companies of the Ribera, Rockwool, SKF and Repuestos Agrícolas Mayoral, in addition to Obra Social "la Caixa", Florette, Recarte Talleres and dozens of establishments and sports clubs of Murchante and other localities of Navarra. "It is very gratifying to see a whole town involved in this event, in which we try to contribute our grain of sand to the research of the CIMA of the University of Navarra. From the organization we want to thank once again the participants and volunteers. And, of course, also to all the collaborators, since their contributions are a very important part of this event. Many of them even participated actively in the walk", explains Virginia Salcedo, organizer of the event.

The meeting started with the words of Dr. Pablo Sarobe, researcher of CIMA, who thanked the response of the town to this solidarity initiative. Accompanied by authorities from the Murchante Town Council, organizers and researchers from CIMA, he cut the ribbon and started the march that flooded Murchante with orange t-shirts and solidarity bibs.

In addition to the sporting events, throughout the morning different activities were held, such as children's entertainment and face painting for the little ones, tasting of local and Arab community products, as well as a charity raffle of gifts donated by the collaborators. The funds raised, through registrations, contributions from collaborating companies and the sale of products donated for the meeting, will go to a project of vaccines against cancer that is being developed in the CIMA.
