The town of La Ribera hosted last Sunday the III Solidarity Walk in favor of the research that takes place in the Cima University of Navarra.
More than 2,500 people participated last Sunday in the III Solidarity Walk "Murchante moves against cancer", organized by the association Murchante moves against cancer, the Skate Club and the City Council of the town. It counted with the main partnership of four companies of the Ribera, Impotusa, Repuestos agrícolas Mayoral, Rockwool and Transformados Ruiz, in addition to "la Caixa" and dozens of establishments and companies of Murchante and other towns in Navarra. "We are very pleased with the response of the whole town of Murchante, which, for the third consecutive year, has returned with this initiative," explains Ana Saso, organizer of the event.
The meeting started with the words of Dr. Pablo Sarobe, researcher of the Cima University of Navarra, who thanked the response of the town to this solidarity initiative. Accompanied by authorities from the Murchante Town Council, organizers and researchers from Cima, he cut the ribbon and started the march that flooded Murchante with a red tide of solidarity t-shirts.
In addition to the sporting events, throughout the morning different activities were held, such as inflatables and face painting for the little ones, tasting of local products, as well as a solidarity raffle of gifts donated by the collaborators. The funds raised, through registrations, contributions from collaborating companies and the sale of products, amounted to 20,181.73 euros and will go to a project of vaccines against cancer that is being developed at Cima.
