On November 15 and 17, the 17 students of the subject Renaissance, Baroque and Enlightenment in Europe, corresponding to the second year of the Degree of History of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra, developed an activity that consisted of reliving the most significant painters of the European Baroque.

In this way, Caravaggio, Rubens and Rembrandt "visited" for a few hours the classroom 30 of the Central Building of the University of Navarra; and not only them, but also the patrons and promoters of their works, the protagonists of the same, and the disciples who collaborated in their workshops, without forgetting the museums and collections in which they are located. The painters took the opportunity to explain in detail some of their works, such as the Head of Medusa and The Calling of Saint Matthew (Caravaggio), the exceptional cycle of Mary of Medici (Rubens), or The Night Watch and the Lesson of Dr. Tulp (Rembrandt) Anatomy .

This activity is part of the methodology internship of the subject, valid for its final grade . Based on bibliographical references and the advice and guidance of professor Javier Azanza, the students, distributed in three groups, develop a staging accompanied by audiovisual material recorded in different scenarios, with a clear goal: to immerse themselves in Baroque culture and art to live and experience first-hand its theatrical, festive and total art character.

This activity was complemented by the attendance to the lecture "Un acierto y un finding: las obras de Georges de La Tour del Museo del Prado", given on November 16 at the Museo Universidad de Navarra by Andrés Úbeda, Head of Conservation of Italian and French Painting until 1700 of the Museo del Prado, within the lecture series: El Museo del Prado: hitos históricos de sus colecciones.
