The University of Navarra and the Friends of the Camino de Santiago-Jacobean programs of study Center of Estella-Lizarra celebrate the 22nd Heritage Week

Estella, Villatuerta, Cirauqui and Mañeru will host conference, which will address the heritage of these towns along the Jacobean route.

The Chair of Heritage and Art of Navarre of the University and the Friends of the Way of St. James - Center of programs of study Jacobean of Estella-Lizarra are celebrating the 22nd Heritage Week from August 27th to 30th. In this edition, the meeting will address an overview of the cultural heritage, with special emphasis on the towns where it is celebrated: Estella, Villatuerta, Cirauqui and Mañeru.

Coordinated by Román Felones Morrás, vice-president of the Friends of the Way of St. James of Estella-Lizarra, and Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the Chair de Patrimonio y Arte Navarro, the program will begin on the 27th at 7.30 p.m. at the Casa de Cultura Fray Diego of Estella. The session, under the degree scroll "The historical-artistic heritage, condenser of values and identities. Contemplating, thinking, reasoning and making history with cultural assets in Estella", will be given by Professor Ricardo Fernández Gracia at position .

The following day, at 7.30 p.m. in the Parish of the Assumption of Villatuerta, the professor of the University of Navarra José Javier Azanza will give a lecture at lecture entitled "Of battles, miracles and bishops: art and heritage in Villatuerta".

On August 29 the conference will move to the Parish of San Román de Cirauqui, where at 19.30 pm. Román Felones, professor of the classroom of Experience of the UPNA, will speak about the heritage of this church. Finally, the meeting will end on August 30, at the same time, in the Parish of San Pedro de Mañeru, with a lecture entitled "El Patrimonio Cultural testigo privilegiado de la Historia: Mañeru", at position by Alejandro Aranda Ruiz, member of the Chair.

The University of Navarra and the Friends of the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela - Estella-Lizarra Jacobean programs of study Center signed in 2023 a multi-yearpartnership agreement which included specific cooperation in subject heritage. This line of work aims to cover all the municipalities where the Jacobean route is present, trying to raise awareness among civil and religious institutions, as well as citizens, about the importance of caring for, protecting and enforcing respect for a route that has the highest level of existing cultural protection: World Heritage.

In this edition, the meeting has the partnership of the municipalities of Estella, Villatuerta, Cirauqui and Mañeru, as well as the Diario de Navarra.
