The Chair Wood Technology of the University of Navarra, in partnership with the Government of Navarra, organized an international seminar on CLT, cross-laminated timber panel. The meeting, organized by the School of ArchitectureThe event, organized by the University of Navarra, was attended by 200 people.

"It is a real alternative to other traditional products, because it achieves a sustainable construction that meets the demands of today's society. This material allows for innovative and flexible designs with a high level of quality and precision," according to José Manuel Cabrero, of Chair de Madera.

One of the main difficulties in wood construction is acoustics. "It is possible to build with good acoustics in wood, but you have to plan these construction elements in the initial phase, design and conditioning, and not later. If these measures are undertaken a posteriori, as insulation, it is much more expensive and complex," according to Juan Negreira, one of the speakers at workshop. Negreira holds a PhD in Acoustic Engineering from the University of Lund, where he is a professor and researcher at department of Building Sciences (Acoustic Engineering Division), and as a Concept Developer at Ecophon.

For his part, Miguel Nevado, of enmadera.info, pointed out that the construction sector, in constant search for sustainability, is increasingly demanding wood construction. "The market demands that the technological information derived from the research in universities reaches the rules and regulations with greater speed than at present. In the current rules and regulations , CLT construction is not even included," said this expert, who has collaborated in the project and execution management of Structures, mainly in wood. Among them, around 1992, the first multi-storey residential buildings in glulam made in Spain.
