100% of the alumni of the Master's Degree in design and management Environmental Management of Buildings (MDGAE) at the University of Navarra work in a professional sector related to the contents of Master's Degree. This is revealed by the data obtained from 80% of the graduates of the last two courses, who currently develop their professional degree program in programs of study architecture, engineering and construction companies

Ana Sánchez-Ostiz, director of the Master's Degree in design and management Environmental Buildings (MDGAE) explains that the reason for this high employability rate is because it is a "specialization very demanded since, at European level, in 2020 all new buildings must be almost zero consumption, and in some countries in South America, for example, it is an area in which work is beginning to work".

"Being able to quantify in a real way the need for sustainability in today's world has strengthened my understanding of architecture and has allowed me to become part of a committed group of people working, with a multitude of different specialties, to achieve a better world," adds María Laspra, a student of the last MDGAE graduating class.

Final Project Master's Degree elaborated in a professional environment.

The demand for specialists in this field was highlighted at the ediFicathe first national fair of passive and healthy buildings with almost zero consumption, which was held last June at the Baluarte Conference Center and Auditorium. In this framework, students exhibited their Final Projects Master's Degree (TFM) during the 28th, 29th and 30th of June. These projects address some of the challenges of current architecture, such as Passivhaus, 'zero' emissions buildings, the development of energy efficiency strategies, building sustainability certifications, energy simulations, among others.

The MDGAE students' FMTs are carried out in companies in the sector. During the months of April to June, the students of the last graduating class carried them out in companies such as LKS Ingeniería, BOA Arquitectos, ARUP, Ecay Construcciones, Construcciones Díaz García and Arquipablos Architecture Studio. This is an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the program in a real environment, in addition to being a entrance to the labor market.

"In line with the markedly practical approach of the MDGAE, the fact that the TFM is understood not only as a work of research staff but as a real immersion in the working world, allows us to apply, reinforce and fix everything we have learned throughout the year. I understand that only in this way do we become aware of everything we have been taught", explains Maria Laspra.

Laspra did his TFM at ARUP and, after submitting it and receiving his diploma fin de Master's Degree, he continued his professional career at business. Along with nine other classmates from five countries, he is a member of the latest MDGAE graduating class. These students graduated on June 29 at the University of Navarra. School of Architecture University of Navarra. The ceremony was presided over by the deputy director of academic staff and research and director of the MDGAE, Ana Sánchez-Ostiz, accompanied by the deputy director of Master's Degree, Purificación González and one of its coordinators, Germán Ramos. The students' representative, María Isabel Guzmán, also took part in the event.
