Tecnun creates the Chair of business Tecnun-SAPA to promote research on high speed gears.
Among its objectives is the research of high speed gears and the approach of student body to the business SAPA, specialized in high speed gear technologies. mobility
Tecnunthe School of Engineering of the University of Navarra, and SAPA, business specialized in technologies of mobility, have signed a agreement for the start-up of the Chair of business Tecnun - SAPA.
The Chair will focus its research on high-speed gears used in transmission systems for heavy electric vehicles. In addition, among the objectives of the Chair is that it "serves as a platform for Tecnun students to carry out their final projects Degree, Master's Degree and thesis doctoral projects on other problems of SAPA product engineering". This was explained by the director of the Chair and professor of department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials of Tecnun, Juan Carlos Ramos, who added that "this alliance will promote the development and reinforcement of students in skills related to innovation and technologies of mobility".
The signature of the new agreement has been sealed by the director of Tecnun, Raúl Antón, and the director general of SAPA, Iñigo García-Eizaga. The latter underlined the importance for SAPA's project of having knowledge and the talent generated at the university.
As described by the University's professor, Juan Carlos Ramos, through the new Chair "analytical, numerical and experimental programs of study will be carried out on how these high-speed gears have to be and what conditions they will be subjected to. We will analyze, among others, issues related to noise and vibration transmission, torsional stresses, transmission errors, cooling and lubrication conditions," he stressed. He also pointed to design and the construction of a test bench to test the high-speed gears, measure the parameters associated with their operation and validate that they are designed correctly or, if not, redefine their design.
