The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition prepares students to take the professional leap with the Employability Week.

For five days, final year students and Master's Degree participated in sessions at training and workshops to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully enter the working world.

From November 6 to 10 the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition held an intensive week of training on employability, which is part of the development Professional Program in which more than 250 students in their final years of Degree and Master's Degree participated, with the goal to provide them with the essential tools to prepare them to make the leap into the professional world.

"This week of intensive training in employability has provided students of Campus Pamplona a valuable opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully face the leap into the professional world, learn about the different outlets of programs of study they are pursuing and advance in their career decisions," explains Maria Zarranz, manager of practices and employment at School.

The program has focused on providing guidance to students to help them make informed decisions about their professional future and prepare them to enter the job market. Students from Degree and Master's Degree participated in various sessions, including a CV review workshop, training offered by the official associations of pharmacists and nutritionists of Navarra and sessions on how to create a good profile on LinkedIn and networking, persuasive communication or how to pass a successful interview, among others. In addition, they learned first-hand about summer internship opportunities.

The students were also able to receive the training about everything that the Internship Service and employment will continue to do throughout the course, such as events aimed at bringing young talent to companies such as a Virtual employment Forum in March, workshops every Tuesday in November, training resources at employment, sources of professional offers and individual guidance.

The value of sharing the experience

One of the highlights of the week were the meetings with alumni from both Degree in Pharmacy and Nutrition and residents spanish pharmacy residency program , who shared valuable insights into career opportunities in their respective fields.

On the pharmaceutical side, in the meeting with the students of the School participated Javier Jaso(COFARES), Beatriz Iriarte (CINFA), Naia Larraza (Arnedillo Pharmacy) and Amaia Ezcurdia (PhD student at the School), who provided a broad view of the employment opportunities of the Degree.

In the field of Nutrition, the students heard the experience of a varied group profiles, in a roundtable in which participated Ainara Martínez (researcher in Preventive Medicine), Iratxe Echaleku(Nutriratxe), Johana Mendiburu (Clínica Universidad de Navarra), Lourdes Paiva (Tallunce), Patricia Álvarez(Pascual), Alejandro García(Baskonia Alavés) and Helen Hermana Hermsdorff (Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil).

In addition, residents from different specialties spanish pharmacy residency program shared their experiences in accessing the specialization program and the current performance of their profession. Specifically, they were Leyre Echegoyen (Microbiology), Leyre Ruiz (Biochemistry ), Claudia Montoya (Immunology), Alicia Fernández (Radiopharmacy) and Esther Mateo (Hospital Pharmacy).
