26 University students receive Caja Rural Global Internship Scholarships

From Navarre, the Basque Country and La Rioja, they have carried out international internships in 12 countries outside the EU.

26 students from the University of Navarra have received the diploma Global Internship Program scholarships, awarded by Caja Rural de Navarra at partnership with Career Services of the academic centre. This programme aims to promote professional internships for university students in non-EU countries.

The United States, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Costa Rica, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Bolivia, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde, Ghana and Japan were the twelve destinations to which students from the University of Navarra travelled this year. The university students, from Navarre, the Basque Country and La Rioja, belong to the School of Engineering (Tecnun) and to the Schools of Law, Science, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Nutrition, Philosophy and Letters, Education and Psychology and speech.

At the ceremony of submission of the diplomas, the president of Caja Rural de Navarra, Ignacio Terés, pointed out the importance for the students' training of having an experience abroad. "It is a unique experience that will provide you with new points of view and that will make you grow in many areas and that you will take away things that will be useful to you forever".

For his part, the University's President , Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, recalled that the University not only trains the heads of its students, but also their hearts. "We want to form generous, caring people with a spirit of service". For you who have received this financial aid during the degree program ," he told the students, "this is the moment to realise that you can contribute to society, to give in gratitude for all that you have received.

The Global Internship Program aims to promote internships for university students in foreign companies and promote . internationalization. The selection of interns has taken into account the academic transcript , the level of language of the host country, the curriculum vitae and the quality of the training offered by the internship business host.
