The School Nursing of the University of Navarra celebrated the graduation of the first 111 students of Degree; the LVI graduating class of the School.
The event was presided over by the Dean, María Isabel Saracíbar, who was accompanied by the Director of Nursing of the University of Navarra, Carmen Rumeu, and Professor Cristina García Vivar, of Community and Maternal-Child Nursing, who acted as the Dean. Clínica Universidad de NavarraCarmen Rumeu, and Professor Cristina García Vivar, of Community and Maternal-Child Nursing, who acted as patron of the graduating class.
In her speech, the dean stressed that "it would be a huge failure, both for the University and for nursing, if the passage of the diploma program to Degree had been seen only as the possibility of having one more year for the training of students, more time to schedule their theoretical and practical training. "The effort," Saracíbar stressed, "has been focused on providing the students with the subject and knowledge necessary so that, from now on, they will be able to develop a quality nursing professional internship ". He also indicated that nursing care "is complex and requires scientific knowledge, but not only that, it also requires human sensitivity, concern for knowing others and well-established values".
For her part, the patron of the graduating class encouraged the new graduates to be competent nurses; to remain enthusiastic about improving nursing; and not to forget to care for the patient's family.
The program closed with the presentation of diplomas to the graduates at submission and the words of the delegate and sub-delegate of promotion, Mª Laura López Gómez and Mª Beatriz Fernández.
