Last Wednesday, December 11, Tantaka-Tecnun was recognized as the best citizen initiative of the city by the committee Social of the City Council of Donostia.
This award, as the coordinator, Paula Berroa, points out, "is the result of the affection that so many teachers, employees and students have put into each volunteer activities throughout these 8 years. For all this, I would like to thank all the people who spread and drag with their example," she said.
Paula Pasquín, a fourth year student of Degree in Engineering at design industrisla Pasquín, presented project in the Plenary Hall of the City Hall, and explained how Tantaka is organized in different areas of action to meet specific needs. "All of this connects us with diverse and often invisible realities. We see how small initiatives can have a huge impact on people's lives. Tantaka seeks not only to help those in need, but to transform those of us who do it, giving us a different perspective."
The student recalled that 1,700 people have been part of this project since the beginning and thanked the 25 social entities with which in one way or another have collaborated since then, referring to them as "the engine" of Tantaka. "In this way, and thanks to their work, we have been able to become one more link within society, which is not isolated from the problems that affect our territory", he concluded.
The award was received by the School's director , Raúl Antón.
