Javier Azanza and Maite Dávila, from the School of Philosophy and Letters, participate in the XXIV congress of the committee Spanish Art History (CEHA)

At the meeting , Professor Emeritus Concepción García Gainza was honored and Professor Azanza was elected board member of the board CEHA's Board of Directors.

Javier Azanza, Full Professor of History of Art of the School of Philosophy and Letters, and Maite Dávila, doctoral student, have parti cipated in the XXIV congress of the committee Spanish of History of Art (CEHA), held at the Complutense University of Madrid between June 12 and 16. The meeting was degree scroll "Landscapes. Natura Potentior Ars: art, nature and science for a 21st century discipline ".

Professor Javier Azanza intervened in the session "Making present the landscapes of the past" with his study "In the footsteps of Velazquez's landscape: Villa Medici as a copying exercise in the Prado Museum", in which he claimed the importance of copying in artistic learning and traced the two gardens of Villa Medici in contemporary painting. Maite Dávila participated in the session "presentation de una thesis " with her poster "La training de las artistas navarras contemporáneas en Madrid: academias, museos, galerías", in which she developed questions about the objectives, methodology, structure, bibliographic resources and results of the research of her thesis doctoral thesis, currently in progress under the direction of Javier Azanza.

At the CEHA's extraordinary assembly, held at framework of congress, Professor Azanza was elected board member of its board Board of Directors, chaired by Begoña Alonso Ruiz, Professor of Art History at the University of Cantabria. The meeting also served to pay tribute to the figure of Concepción García Gainza, for her close ties to the CEHA throughout her academic career.
