From May 20 to 22, in Tlaxcala (Mexico), took place the Internationalcongress "Cultural constructions and identity: from the chronicles to the viceroyalty in New Spain. Art, history and literature".

Co-organized by the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP), the Centro de programs of study de Historia de México (CEHM-Carso), the Universidad Iberoamericana-Santa Fe, partnership the Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala (UATx) and the group de research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the University of Navarra, the event was supported by the Spanish Embassy in Mexico (Consulate of Tlaxcala), the Obra Pía de los Pizarro Foundation and the project programs of study Indianos (PEI).

The congress, held in the Luis Carvajal Espino Auditorium of the Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala (UATx), was attended by 19 speakers from six countries: Chile, Costa Rica, Spain, the United States, France and Mexico. The academic sessions were completed with a visit to the historic center of the city of Tlaxcala, visit . In addition, on the 20th, attendees had the opportunity to participate in the events of the Feast of the Virgin of Ocotlán.
