Parish Church of Lesaka
Detail of the silver monstrance
The gilded silver monstrance bears the markings on the back of the base, a schematic venera corresponding to the town of Santiago de los Caballeros and a three-pointed vegetal crown that is the fiscal or tax mark of the fifth tax. It is composed of an octagonal foot on legs in the form of a veneration with two convex and concave bodies respectively and a complex and light shaft with a lower cup with serrated handles and two galloned spheroid bodies between which are placed openwork bodies with "S" shaped points. The sun virile is adorned by a circle of fused caes from which the alternating smooth and flamed rays depart, the former topped with stars. The embossed vegetal decoration is inscribed in lobed ogee fields. This is a rich piece of great quality like the ciborium.
