award Prince of Viana
Concepción García Gaínza, the first Spanish professor of Art History, received the award Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura award from the School of Philosophy y Letras. A year earlier, Professor Álvaro d'Ors had received it.

Statue of St. Josemaría
On June 30, 2001, Bishop Javier Echevarría, then Chancellor of the University, blessed the statue of St. Josemaría, which had been placed in the courtyard of Central Building half a year earlier.

50th anniversary of the University
In 2002 the University organized a series of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary, which included the visit of Chancellor, Bishop Javier Echevarría.
In addition, a commemorative book was published, written by José Antonio Vidal-Quadras, professor at School of Communication. -

Groundbreaking of the CIMA
On April 11, 2002, the first stone of CIMA University of Navarra was laid on the site where the building was later constructed, in front of the Clinic. The ceremony was attended by the then President of the Government, José María Aznar. The President was José María Bastero.

Gold Medal to Antonio Valero
In 2002, then President José María Bastero posthumously awarded Antonio Valero, IESE Business School's first director , degree scroll , with the University's Gold Medal. The ceremony, held in Barcelona, was shared via videoconference with IESE Madrid.

Gold Medal to Alfonso Nieto
Also in 2002, the Gold Medal was awarded to Alfonso Nieto, Full Professor of business Informativa, promoter of the programs of study university Journalism courses in Spain. Nieto had been President of the University (1979-1991) and before that, Dean of the School of Communication (1971-1974).

Canonization of St. Josemaría
On October 6, 2002, the canonization of St. Josemaría was celebrated in Rome. In November a Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated in the Cathedral of Pamplona, presided over by Archbishop Fernando Sebastian, accompanied by 146 priests.

Inauguration of the CIMA
The CIMA University of Navarra was inaugurated in 2004 by the then Prince and Princess of Asturias, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia. The building, designed by architect Carlos Docal, had taken two years to build.
The first general director of CIMA was Francisco Errasti. -
2005
Ángel J. Gómez-Montoro, new President
After José María Bastero, Ángel J. Gómez-Montoro took over the position of President in 2005. He received the bequest from María Josefa Huarte and promoted the creation of the Museo Universidad de Navarra, whose board of trustees he chaired. He now directs the University's campus in Madrid.

Tecnun building in Miramon
In 2006, the then Prince and Princess of Asturias inaugurated the building designed by architect Patxi Mangado for Tecnun and Ceit in the Miramón Technology Park.

2007
IESE's new campus in Barcelona
In 2007, in the presence of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, IESE Business School's new 30,000-square-meter campus was inaugurated in Barcelona.

Four new Gold Medals
In 2008, the University awarded four new Gold Medals: to Carlos Cavallé, Mª Pilar Fernández Otero, Natalia López Moratalla and Lucas Mateo-Seco.

Last carol contest
In 2008 and after XXI editions, the traditional Christmas carol contest, in which groups from Schools, senior high schools, university clubs and residences participated, lowered the curtain. The high school Mayor Ayete took that last triumph, with "A ti la gloria".

Donation of María Josefa Huarte
In 2008, María Josefa Huarte donated her art collection to the University: fifty paintings and sculptures by important 20th century artists such as Picasso, Rothko, Tàpies, Palazuelo, Oteiza and Chillida. Thus was born the project of the Museo Universidad de Navarra.

Bologna Plan
In the 2009/2010 academic year, the University adapted to the European Higher Education Area Education (known as the Bologna Plan), offering 31 degrees Degree.
