Sciences Building
In 1970, the Sciences Building (the "Hexagon Building"), designed by Carlos Sobrini, was inaugurated. Since then, it has housed the classes of Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Science and Pharmacy and Nutrition.

First doctoral inauguration ceremony
The University held its first ceremony for the investiture of new doctors in March 1971. Francisco Ponz, then President, presided over the ceremony. The master lecture was given by Dr. Diego Martínez Caro at position .

From high school to School
In 1971, high school of Journalism was upgraded to School of Information Sciences (today, School of Communication).
That same year, the installation of the first television studio for student internships began. It was put into operation the following year, 1972. -

visit from Chancellor, St. Josemaría Escrivá
The first days of October 1972 were marked by the presence in Pamplona of Chancellor, St. Josemaría Escrivá.

Latin American Graduate Program
The School of Information Sciences (today, School of Communication), under the sponsorship of the German Adveniat Foundation, launched the Program for Latin American Graduates (PGLA) in 1972. Until 1980, 400 professionals from 13 countries attended the program.

Phase 3 of the Clinic
In 1973, construction began on a new expansion of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Phase 3 was inaugurated on March 1, 1975.

New honorary doctorates
On May 9, 1974, a new doctoral graduation ceremony 'honoris causa' was held during the last visit at the University of Chancellor, St. Josemaría Escrivá. Jérôme Lejeune (School of Medicine) and Franz Hengsbach (School of Theology) received the distinction.

First IESE program in Madrid
IESE Business School, the University's business school, landed in Madrid in 1974 at the request of alumni who lived there. In October, PADE began to be taught in the capital, at the Hotel Monte Real.
A few years later, José Ocáriz was appointed as the delegate of committee in Madrid.
It was not until 1981 that IESE had its first headquarters in Madrid, which was still rented. In 1991, the new headquarters was inaugurated (the photo corresponds to that inauguration), of which Rafael Termes was named director . -
1974
University of Navarra Athletic Club
That same year, 1974, the Athletic Club of the University of Navarra (CAUN), the only university club in the Athletics League, was promoted to the First Division.
CAUN had been founded in 1962 by Dr. Gonzalez Iturri, a physician at the Clinic and professor at School of Medicine. -
1975
Death of Chancellor, St. Josemaría Escrivá
St. Josemaría Escrivá, founder and first Chancellor of the University, died in Rome on June 26, 1975.
On June 12, 1976, an "in memoriam" ceremony was held at the university. It was presided over by Blessed Alvaro del Portillo, his successor. -
1976
New building for the Schools Ecclesiastical
In 1976, the Schools Theology and Canon Law moved to their new building, designed by architect Joan Rius and made possible thanks to generous funding from the Aristrain Foundation.

School of Architecture
In 1978, School of Architecture inaugurated its new building, designed by architects Carlos Sobrini, Rafael Echaide and Eugenio Aguinaga.

New President
The decade closed with a change at Governing Body of the University. Alfonso Nieto was appointed President in 1979, replacing Francisco Ponz, who had served for 13 years.
Professor Ponz was appointed Vice President.
