300 students at the University participate in a drug awareness campaign conference

300 secondary school students from the Jesuit, La Compasión Escolapios and San Cernin high school diploma from the Jesuitas, La Compasión Escolapios and San Cernin schools have taken part in the University of Navarra in conference to raise awareness about the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
In the sessions, the students simulated the visual and motor alterations produced by the ingestion of alcohol, cannabis and opiates, with real environments and situations after massive consumption. The goal of these conference, organised by the Healthyclassroom of School of Nursing of the University of Navarra, is to raise awareness among young people and adolescents, and promote in this way to encourage consumption manager.
The meeting included a virtual reality circuit where visual impairments were recreated with interactive glasses and an over-stimulation classroom simulating a leisure place where young people usually meet.
Analyses of carbon monoxide levels in exhaled air in smokers were also carried out, as well as game dynamics on knowledge, values, beliefs and attitudes towards alcohol and tobacco. Finally, videos were shown with testimonies from relatives of traffic accidents.
