submission of the awards of the II Las Artes Educan- Arts Educate Competition
The works of Elena Zunzunegui, Fátima Casimiro, Miguel Barbería and Nerea Aldaz have received the awards.
The School of Education and Psychology made submission of the awards of the II Arts Educate - Arts Educate Contest on the day of its patron saint, held last February 1. The award-winning works come from the sample that can still be seen in the hall of the second floor of libraries until the end of February and that selects the best works of the subject Education Plastic and Audiovisual I, taught by Professor Carmen Urpí. These awards have two categories, that of the Jury's award and that of the Public.
In the first of these categories of the current edition, the first award was obtained by the work that bears the following name degree scroll Forest by Elena Zunzunegui Santos, which represents a landscape in watercolor and of which the jury highlighted the "good handling of the technique, which is sample in the treatment by glazes of the same color, obtaining several tones of the same range, and an interesting play of light in the figures and their shadows".
The second award of the jury, which coincides with the second award of the public also, was awarded to Colda pastel landscape, the work of the student Fátima Casimiro Satóstegui, and of which they highlighted "the composition, with the predominance of the space assigned to the sky, accentuated by the vertical format; the contrast of lights created by the backlight and the silhouettes of the trees", in addition to the "good handling of the technique in the sky, with freedom of stroke in all the elements of work: both in the sky, where there is a wealth of nuances and mastery of transparencies, and in the execution of the trees".
The jury's third prize award , a watercolor landscape, again went to Elena Zunzunegui Santos, on this occasion, for the work Small villagewhich was recognized for the complexity of her technique and the landscape it represents, "well balanced between the coloring and the depth achieved".
The jury was composed of Paula Mercedes Lizarraga, Professor of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts at department of Philosophy of the University of Navarra, Concepcion Martínez Pasamar, Professor of Hispanic Philology of the same academic center, historian and illustrator, and Ana Costa París, Professor of Musical Education of department of Theory and Methods of Educational and Psychological research of the University of Navarra.
In the category of public awards, the work by Miguel Barbería Irigaray Refreshing fruitsrepresenting a pastel still life, won the first prize award of the Public, while the second and third prize, in the same category, went to Fátima Casimiro for Fríoalso deserving of the second award of the jury, and Nerea Aldaz Sagredo, with Recuerdoa charcoal portrait.
Last academic year 2015-2016, in its first edition, the contest only contemplated the category of the Public and the three winning students were: Ana Aledo Navarro (3rd), Ignacio Jiménez Ezquerro (3rd) and Raquel Robles Fernández (3rd).
