Tecnun starts the course with 253 new 1st year students
In two of the Degrees the percentage of first-year women increases significantly to 65%.

Tecnun has started the academic year with a total of 253 new students. The first year students attended a welcoming workshop on Wednesday, August 30 and had a introductory course on Thursday, August 31 and Friday, September 1.
The new students were welcomed by the coordinator of programs of study, Rocío Núñez, who highlighted the joy of receiving each year a greater issue of women who choose to study Engineering in Tecnun, and stressed that the academic transcript of the new students is very good in all cases.

The students then received lessons in Basic Calculus and Trigonometry. In the afternoon they were welcomed by Raúl Antón, director of Tecnun, who encouraged the students to make the most of their time at university, "not only in the academic aspect but also by actively participating in all the extra-curricular activities offered by the School. Afterwards they had a session on Counseling and programs of study at Tecnun given by Jorge Juan Gil, Deputy Director for Students.
On Thursday they started the workshop with sessions on Algebra and Derivation. In the afternoon they continued with lessons on Integration and Humanities in Engineering. The student Lucía Garrido, who is starting this course in Industrial Engineering, commented "the first day I was a little nervous, but at the same time I was also excited about this new stage. I'm really looking forward to starting the university stage and this zero course has helped me to get to know my new classmates and to be more relaxed on Monday".
For his part, Álex Foullant, student of Biomedical Engineering, was very excited about the start of the course. "I love Mathematics, so these previous days in which we have been working on Calculus and Derivation have been great for me".
On Friday, the Evaluated Tests of what was learned in the two previous conference took place. At average morning, a roundtable took place with students of higher courses and presentations of high school Mayor Ayete and high school Mayor Jaizkibel. The workshop concluded with a paellada at campus.
It should be noted that 44% of the new Tecnun undergraduates are from Gipuzkoa, 34% from the rest of Spain and 22% from international countries. The director of the School's Admissions Office service, Mikel Arcelus, points out that the new students come from 19 different countries: United States, Mexico, Panama, Honduras, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Austria, Portugal, France and Andorra.
It also points to a 32% of women among the new 1st year students, having Degrees as Biomedical Engineering and design Industrial and development of Products in which the percentage of women soars to 65%.
