In 2013 Anna and Pau Cassany decided to undertake outside their respective jobs, (Pau works at the University Museum of Navarra and Anna in the creative department of Kerygma communication), and formed Mussol Creations, a small business of personalized handmade gifts.

They have created the packaging for the gastronomic contest based on the movie "Ocho apellidos catalanes" (Eight Catalan surnames).

How does proposal reach you?
We are dedicated to the design of personalized gifts. It is a world that does not close in the mere gift that makes a person to another. In the end people ask us for ideas, proposals...it becomes a much broader concept, in which fit all subject of proposals. And that's how this came about. Universal Studio España and Telecinco proposed us to make the packaging for the contest. The truth is that they fully trusted our criteria.

How did you begin to shape the idea, what was the creative process?
When we got the order we wanted to know exactly how they approached the contest to give the best answer. They told us that the gift would contain products from the three cities where the film takes place and that's what we based our project on. The nice thing about getting involved in a third party's project is that you can help and contribute with your ideas. We wanted to work on the idea of the three regions in a fun way. We asked them to give us a meaningful phrase from each of the regions. They thought it was a good idea and they also used it in the approach of the contest.

Our idea was to work with the three communities and give it a rural touch, since both films are set in villages. That's why we chose the cloth bags with the phrases, and each one of them had a typography with characteristic features of the area. Inside the bag we placed a wooden framework , which was intended to symbolize the accreditation of having won the contest. In this framework, we put the "logo" of the film and the three flags.

What did you want to achieve: what was the result?
First of all, to fulfill a challenge. It's not every day that Universal Studios asks us to be in charge of the packaging for the giveaway of a contest related to one of the highest-grossing films in Spanish cinema.

We wanted to achieve a different, meaningful product for the feature film and one that spoke about us, in the sense that it had our imprint on it. We believe we succeeded, and result has been much bigger than expected.

I think we have been able to go beyond mere packaging and get involved in the contest to give a better result .

What other projects do you have?
Now we are very focused on all the orders that come to us these dates. The truth is that people trust us to make original and personal gifts, and to surprise their loved ones.

We are also working on a 50th anniversary gift for a high school and as always designing and thinking of new products.

Your business, Mussol Creations, is closely linked to the world of design. As you know, the School is going to launch next year a new Degree in design. How do you value this bet?
It seems to me a great bet for the future, since the design is implicit in all the actions of the human being. In this sense, I think that the School is betting on something that is becoming more and more important and a good training in this field is something very positive for the professionals of the future.
