The Science Museum of the University of Navarra will celebrate World Environment Day with activities for all audiences.

The institution has organized a lecture, workshops for children, and an environmental awareness campaign on Twitter.

The Science Museum of the University of Navarra, -in partnership with the Biodiversity and Environment Institute of the University, Banco Sabadell Foundation, and Pamplona City Council - has organized activities for all audiences to celebrate World Environment Day (June 5).

On Friday, June 4 at 19:00 hours, Luis Lassaletta, researcher Ramón y Cajal at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, will give the lecture "The nitrogen decade, beyond climate change". Lassaletta holds a PhD in Biological Sciences and studies the alteration of nutrient cycles (N and P) and the relationships between agricultural practices, productivity, human per diem expenses , pollution and environmental policy. The lecture will be held in person at the Palacio del Condestable in Pamplona and can be followed live through the YouTube channel of the Science Museum.

This session opens a new cycle organized by the Science Museum "For a sustainable future" that will be extended during the next academic year, thanks to partnership of the Banco Sabadell Foundation.

In addition, on Saturday, June 5, the Museum goes out into the street with activities for all audiences. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., some pieces from the Science Museum will be exhibited on Avenida de Carlos III (intersection with Avenida Roncesvalles). In that schedule, workshops have also been organized for children between 6 and 12 years old: paint and color; making animals with recycled materials; a vegetable garden in your hands; observation of animals with digital magnifying glasses; visual escape room; and physics experiments and Chemistry. Alphabet, from group BMW, joins this activity with the loan of an electric vehicle, so that volunteers and researchers from the Science Museum can carry out scientific activities knowledge dissemination around Navarra.

Finally, the Science Museum will launch on June 5 -for twenty-four hours- various environmental messages on its Twitter account. Twitterunder the hashtag #TODOEMPIEZAPORTI, and with the participation of scientists and researchers from Biodiversity and Environment Institute of the University of Navarra. This Twitter campaign aims to appeal to the importance of individual responsibility in the care and protection of our planet.
