The French documentary 'Green', award Ciudad de Pamplona at the Telenatura Festival 2010
The competition, organized by the University of Navarra, awarded the award to the best film of the festival to this production, directed by Patrick Rouxel.
The French documentary Green has been awarded the award Ciudad de Pamplona to the best film, in the ninth edition of the International Telenatura Festival, organized by the School of Communication of the University of Navarra and the Pamplona Planetarium.
Directed by French filmmaker Patrick Rouxel, it tells the story of an orangutan, a victim of deforestation in Indonesia. It is a poetic film that sample the beauty of the Indonesian rainforest, while highlighting the relentless destruction it suffers. This work also won the award for conservationist values.
The best Spanish production was Elefantes, el ocaso de los gigantes, by director Fernando González Sitges (Explora Films). For its part, the Audiovisual Workshop of the University of Valencia won the awards for best screenplay and best scientific knowledge dissemination , with its documentary Tras la huella de Darwin, directed by Harmonía Carmona and María Sales. Invasores, by the Spanish director Luis Miguel Domínguez, has been distinguished with the award to the environmental Education ; while El misterio de los cristales gigantes, by Javier Trueba (Madrid Scientific Films) has obtained the award to the best scientific content. Among the winning works, Poppy's promise, by the German director Jan Haft (Nautilus Film), award for best cinematography and best production, also stands out.
Other award-winning productions were the following: director El espejismo de las tablas, by Televisión Española (best report); La Oroya, by Panamanian Alejandro Balaguer (best NGO production); Los hijos de los pastores, by Luis Alfaro (best amateur production), and Albatrocity, by the University of Otago, in New Zealand, (accredited specialization special to the documentary made by university students).
The Telenatura 2010 jury was formed by Alessandro Griffini (president of the International Association for average in Science), Susana Garayoa (manager of communication of the Environmental Resources Center of Navarra), Enrique Guerrero (professor of the School of Communication), Javier Novo (professor of the School of Sciences) and Covadonga Martínez de Rioja (student of the School of Sciences).
