I believe you are currently researcher at the CNIO. Could you explain what project of research you are involved in?
I am doing my doctoral thesis on the group of brain tumors, a new group funded by the Seve-Ballesteros Foundation. My project is focused on identifying the mechanisms of resistance to current treatments of the most lethal brain tumor, in order to improve therapies, find new drugs and biomarkers.

Why did you choose this center to start your research degree program ?
I have always liked oncology research and the Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO) is a center of excellence and a national and international reference. The environment at work is very enriching. Here you can develop a quality research without losing the development staff , and it is an honor to work side by side with some of the best researchers in the world in this field.

What did the training you received at the Diploma of management and Science Entrepreneurship give you when looking for a career path?
It has given me a broader vision of what a science degree program offers. I remember that it was a very dynamic diploma , where we had to face real situations that I have had to face later, such as the workshop on CV with interview included.

Before this training, I saw these issues as alien to my degree program, but the reality is that there are more and more companies related to biosanitary sciences led by young people, recent graduates or with experience in this field.

In your opinion, is science profitable?
Of course it is. In the project Human Genome, every euro invested has been multiplied by 150. It is a clear example that investing in science generates benefits, not only for people's health -which of course is the most important thing- but also economically. In fact, and related to my area of work, I believe that we are at a turning point in the fight against cancer. We now have the necessary tools to be able to develop new technology (drugs, companies, etc.) that will undoubtedly bring benefits for everyone.

What are your mid-term plans deadline in your research degree program ?
My goal issue one is to finish the thesis . Then I would like to continue my training abroad.
