The 9 students who make up the IV promotion (2019-2021) of the Master's Degree in design Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition defended last September 25 their final works of Master's Degree, before starting the year of paid internship in a business of the sector.

This is a program that seeks to train highly qualified pharmacists in the field of the research, development and industrial manufacture of medicines to meet the demand of the health industry and administrations. Thus, this work has been carried out in the 400 m2 Pilot Plant of department Technology and Chemistry Pharmaceuticals, in an environment similar to that of the industry in which the students will work.

The health crisis caused by the coronavirus motivated all the defenses to be carried out remotely. Thus, the students presented their work live in online format before the panel of judges who were on the premises of School. They had 10 minutes each to present their work presentation, and the jury had an extra five minutes to ask questions or make appropriate considerations. On this occasion, all the students carried out and defended their research papers in English. 

The topics addressed by the students were the production, quality control and quality assurance of coated tablets of Leonurus cardiaca L.; the analytical development , quality control and quality assurance of a sterile thermo-reversible gel for topical anesthesia; and the design production, quality control and implementation of a quality control standards of a sterile preparation for intravenous perfusion of arginine and lysine.
