Professors Pablo Blanco Sarto, of the University of Navarra, and Philip Goyret, of the University of the Holy Cross (Rome), have published Calls for Unity. With this book they intend to explain what ecumenism is, giving the history of the unions and divisions of Christianity, as well as the theological principles to understand the relationship of the Catholic Church with the other Christian confessions.

Professor Blanco points out that "in ecumenism we project our hopes for the unity of all Christians (Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans and Protestants) in the one Church of Christ". And according to him, this can and must be carried out as a spiritual commitment "through prayer and conversion of heart". He also emphasizes that Catholics and non-Catholics must seek together the common evangelical values, "which must be translated into ecclesial relations between each and every Christian confession".

The publication, aimed at students of theology and anyone else who may be interested, addresses the theological dialogue between Christians of different confessions (Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans, Protestants).
