The students of the UniversityMaster's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition finished last February 26th their period of academic training and started a 9-month module during which they will carry out paid professional internships in companies.

In this new stage, the students of the program joined the teams of companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices sector, such as Janssen, Novonordisk, Boston Scientific, Astrazeneca, GKS, Cinfa, Cantabria Labs, Shionogi, 3P Biopharmaceuticals, Vivvebiotech and Abbvie, among others. "The students have mainly joined the areas of Health Economics and Market Access, Marketing, development Business and Medical Affairs", highlights María Zarranz, career manager of the School Pharmacy and Nutrition. "In addition, although most of the students are doing their internships in Spain, two have opted for an international experience".

A parallel curriculum

Throughout the first 5 months of Master's Degree , sessions were given on resume writing, LinkedIn, work interviews, etc. In addition, in November a week of employment was organized in which human resources managers from different companies in the sector came to the headquarters of the University of Navarra in Madrid to explain what they look for when hiring a junior profile in their companies. 

According to María Zarranz, the program team is already working on the training plan for the next edition: "We are preparing a full schedule of sessions in which we will work with students on basic issues such as CVs, LinkedIn, interviews and the dynamics of group. But we also want them to immerse themselves in the sector and live an international experience, as this is something that the companies themselves are demanding from us: languages, international outreach and training at management".
