Can young people aspire to a lifelong love? How to live a passionate courtship? How do you build love in the digital age when you share without knowing each other and when you "have to" respond instantly? Young people deserve to have answers, but also to be heard. With this purpose comes for the first time to America next June 8 "Awaken by Infinity", an event organized by the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra that will bring together hundreds of young people at The Westin Camino Real Hotel in Guatemala City. The country has the privilege of being the first venue on the continent to host this initiative. The main goal of this meeting is to deepen and provide answers to the questions that young people ask themselves in an environment where immediacy destabilizes bonds and where the fear of commitment and the vertigo of social networks are a constant challenge to establish solid relationships.
"Awake by Infinity" was created to help young people who aspire to eternal love, engaged couples, married couples, educators and all those who yearn to find the deepest meaning in their lives. In this meeting, researchers from the University of Navarra and young influencers will present in conferences their knowledge and experiences to accompany young people in the construction of their emotional relationships. They will give inspiring talks in the style of Ted Talks® and there will be a space for dialogue with young people to address their doubts and deepen their concerns.
Alfonso Osorio, main researcher of the group Infinity: family, love and sexuality of the ICS and speaker the event, explains this project: "Infinity is the result of the synergy between researchers who are experts in affectivity and sexuality and young people interested in this topic. It is a research group of the Institute for Culture and Society of the University of Navarra, formed by experts who want to help people to live solid and fulfilling relationships. To do this, they start from quality scientific research ". In this sense, the role of the young people who collaborate in the project is fundamental: "This cannot be done well in a unidirectional way. This is why Infinity has teamed up with a growing group of young people, with whom it engages in dialogue to achieve mutual enrichment".
In this line, Jokin de Irala, Full Professor in Public Health at the University of Navarra and speaker at Despierta, points out the potential of meetings of this subject: "We find it financial aid to have this subject of public sessions with young people because they allow us to know firsthand what their doubts and desires are in the midst of the environments where they have to live. Talking to them teaches us a lot and financial aid us to better accompany them in their desire to find the love of their lives".
In addition to Alfonso Osorio and Jokin de Irala, the event will include the participation of expert researchers in affectivity and sexuality Carolina Lupo (Argentina) and Dania Andrade (Guatemala). The young influencers who will also participate in this meeting are the Spanish Carla Restoy, Joan Folch and Álvaro Quesada. Among other topics, they will talk about love in the midst of a hyper-stimulated era and the challenges posed by social networks.
The event's Instagram account, @despierta.byinfinity, will be posting the topics and speakers for this meeting , which is expected to bring together hundreds of young people on Sunday, June 8.
