María Jesús Soto-Bruna, professor at department of Philosophy and director of high school of programs of study Medieval of the University of Navarra has been elected board member of the board Directive of the Spanish Society of Philosophy Medieval (SOFIME) in its last Assembly, held in Madrid on March 7, 2014.

SOFIME was founded in 1990 and is a point of reference letter for the programs of study of Philosophy Medieval in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, as well as in the rest of the world. Its publication organ is the "Revista Española de Philosophy Medieval".

The Society began under the presidency of Joaquín Lomba (University of Zaragoza); José Luis Cantón Alonso, Pedro Roche and José Luis Fuertes have been presidents of the Society. Alexander Fidora (ICREA - Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona) was elected President, with Josep Puig (Madrid) continuing as Vice-President.

At the November 2016 Assembly in Barcelona, the position of President of SOFIME was renewed, which is now held by Dr. Jose Meirinhos (Universidade do Porto).
