The high school of Doctors of Navarra submission the scholarship Ignacio Landecho to Dr. Raquel Ciérvide
With a degree in Medicine from the University of Navarra, Ciérvide is a fourth-year resident in Radiation Oncology at the CUN.
The Foundation high school of Doctors of Navarra has awarded the scholarship Ignacio Landecho of support to the training spanish medical residency program 2010 to Dr. Raquel Ciérvide, who will receive 6,000 euros to finance her stay at the New York University Cancer Center (USA).
Raquel Ciérvide was born in Tafalla (Navarra) in 1981 and has studied at the School of Medicine at the University of Navarra. She is currently a fourth year resident in Radiation Oncology at the University of Navarra. Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
The scholarship granted will finance part of her training as a researcher in a translational project (research basic and clinical) in radiation oncology on breast cancer, in one of the leading centers in the United States.
The scholarship bears the name of Dr. Ignacio Landecho, in report of the psychiatrist and second vice-president of high school of Doctors of Navarra who died last February. The scholarship was open to resident physicians registered in Navarra, from the third year of training. In total, 16 physicians submitted the application in order to finance their stay in a national or foreign center of recognized prestige.
The president of high school of Doctors of Navarra, María Teresa Fortún Pérez de Ciriza, and the president of Laboratorios Cinfa, Enrique Ordieres, were in charge of submit the scholarship. Also present at the event were Dr. Rafael Teijeira, second vice-president of high school of Doctors of Navarra, and Dr. Carolina Ceamanos, widow of Dr. Landecho.
