Medicine, Nursing or Law can leave their classrooms and learn in front of a work of art. Professors and researchers from various Schools and centers of the University of Navarra will exhibit the teaching projects they have developed in partnership with the Museo Universidad de Navarra, next Monday 20, from 9.45 to 13:45h. The workshop will also include artistic research projects by MUN professionals, and can be followed in person and also in online format, by registering through the web.

As explained by the manager of the MUN's educational area , Fernando Echarri, the workshop aims to publicize two lines of work of the Museum: "the educational, aimed at both the University and other groups in society; and the research, for the academic community, and which also results in a social benefit".

The papers belong to a wide range of subject areas and Schools of the University. "Art and Palliative Care", by Dr. José Luis Pereira (School of Medicine); "From the Big Bang to the human brain, by way of Beauty", by María Pont (School of Pharmacy and Nutrition); "Law and Art: A better understanding of our history", by Mercedes Galán (dean of the School Law); or "Tàpies' briefcase: facilitating the artistic experience for people with visual difficulties", by María Angélica Martínez (School of Architecture), are some of the twenty topics that will be dealt with. Also present will be the Schools of Sciences, Nursing, Philosophy and Letters, Education and Psychology, and Communication, as well as MUN professionals from the areas of Performing Arts and Music, Exhibitions and Education.

Within the University, Echarri says that the MUN has been configured as a financial aid to the Schools on two levels: helping to teach contents of different Degrees, especially with the contribution of methodological innovations; and in lines of research to help to know more deeply "the experiential capacity that this Museum can offer to the educational community and society in general".

With these meetings, the University of Navarra Museum joins the International Museum Day (IDM), which this year, under the slogan "Museums for Education and research", revolves around the role of museums as educational institutions. In this regard, Echarri considers that the future of museums lies in "building bridges with society" and that the educational capacity they can offer will contribute to this.

The MUN will complete its program around the DIM with free admission and guided tours between Thursday 16 and Sunday 19; and with the children's workshop "Investigating Color", given at partnership with the University's Science Museum, on Saturday 18.

More information, invitations and registration to the webcast can be found on the website.
