The brain of 'Wild Robot' in real life: how much we can learn about artificial intelligence from watching the movie

Montserrat-Ana Miranda, a member of DATAI, highlights how the movie Wild Robot presents a fascinating example of how artificial intelligence (AI) can learn and adapt to its environment, similar to the learning processes of the human brain. The protagonist, Roz, is an AI based on artificial neural networks (ANNs), which simulate the way human neurons interact. Through her experience on a wild island, Roz learns to recognize and memorize patterns, such as identifying a baby goose. 

The film also raises important ethical questions about the development of AI, underscoring the need for multidisciplinary partnership in its evolution.
