The University presents Women for Science and Technology

The platform, formed by more than 20 teachers and researchers and a hundred science students, is presented in a workshop with experiments and lectures

Next Friday, February 10, the University of Navarra will present its Women for Science and Technology initiative, aimed at supporting female students who wish to pursue scientific careers, as well as to make visible and enhance the presence of women in science.

The presentation of this platform is part of the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, promoted annually by the UN on February 11. Likewise, with this initiative the University of Navarra joins the events promoted in the region and in other provinces through the platform 11defebrero.org.

This special workshop will start at 12 noon at Sciences Building with experiments aimed at primary and secondary school students at position with students from Biology, Biochemistry and Environmental Sciences, dressed as some of the most famous female scientists in history.

Then, at 1 p.m., the CIMA will host the roundtable "Women and entrepreneurs, why not?", with the participation of Paloma Grau, coordinator of Women for Science and Technology and deputy director of the School of Engineering; the professor of Genetics María José Calasanz, co-director of CIMA Lab Diagnostics; and Rosa Valenzuela, director of signature biomedical Innomedix.
