María Villaró, winner of the 'Awakening Creativity' drawing and painting contest competition

He will participate this summer in Antonio López's painting workshop at the University of Navarra.

María Villaró, a doctoral student at the University of Navarra, has won the second competition of drawing and painting 'Awakening Creativity' in the university category. Thanks to the award, she will participate in the workshop'Masters of figuration', which the painter Antonio López, award Príncipe de Viana de la Cultura 2012, will give from August 5 to 9 at the academic center.

In the category of high school diplomaThe first award went to Natalia Moreno, from high school San Francisco Javier, Tudela, who will also attend the workshop of Antonio Lopez. The second prize went to Marta Ciordia, from high school San Cernin, Pamplona.

In Education Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), awards were given to Adriana García, from high school Miravalles, Pamplona (1st award); José María Aréjola, from high school Irabia, Pamplona (2nd award); and María Rosas, from high school San Cernin, Pamplona (3rd award).

Finally, in the Children's category, the winners were Carmen López, from high school Miravalles, Pamplona, with the first prize award; Álex Sánchez, from high school public Xabier Zubiri, Zubiri (Esteribar), with the second prize; and Beatriz Eraso, from high school San Cernin, Pamplona, with the third prize. The awards consist of a diploma and drawing and painting material.

Two hours to draw

The jury was composed of Juan José Aquerreta and Fernando Redón, Prince Viana Culture Awards; the painter Jesús Ukar, representing the department of Education; Professor Luis Manuel Fernández, from the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra; and the painters Cristina del Rosso and José Jesús Lorenzo, representing the artistic association Izpiritu Sortzailea - Espíritu Creativo, organizer of the competition with the partnership of the Regional Government and the University of Navarra.

The distinctions were presented in the cloister of the department of Education of the Government of Navarra by the counselor José Iribas, after the celebration of the final phase of competition, which consisted of drawing or painting for two hours an element or space of the aforementioned cloister, with a free interpretation and technique. Eighteen students participated in the final phase, who were classified after a first selection, carried out on April 9, among the 161 works submitted to the contest.
