The Museo Universidad de Navarra celebrated last Friday the closing ceremony of the V promotion of the Master's Degree in programs of study of Curatorship. The 16 students were accompanied by Mercedes Jover, director of the Museum of Navarra, who gave the master class; Jaime García del Barrio, director of the Museum of Navarra; Nieves Acedo, director of Master's Degree; and Soledad Paszkiewicz, delegate of the course, as well as family, friends and professionals of the Museum. The event took place at the classroom Magna of the Central Building of the University of Navarra.

In her speech, Jover defended that the responsibility of the graduates, from their profession as curators, is to "generate knowledge andcritical thinking in and for the information society. True information and true thinking to which people can anchor themselves in order to develop their own critical thinking". In this sense she gave them a committee: "Always be rigorous and sincere, work looking for the truth, activate reflection in the new audiences, with professional freedom and freedom of conscience".

García del Barrio also encouraged the students to "develop a work with a vocation of commitment, with the goal to search for spirituality and truth" and stressed that "one way to reach reality is through beauty".

Acedo, director of postgraduate program, pointed out that this is an all-women promotion and invited them to remember the interviews on Admissions Office in which she asked them why they wanted to do the Master's Degree: "I invite you to remember that exercise we did in which we asked ourselves: what brought you here? Now your mission statement is to bring other people closer to this experience of art. To encourage in others that relationship with art. I invite you to revisit that mission statement to continue taking steps".

For her part, Paszkiewicz, delegate of the promotion, valued "art as continuous and experiential learning" and praised the work of the Master's Degree team, academic staff and all the Museum's professionals. She also defended that "a work of art fulfills its mission statement when we sample something we do not know. This also happens with people, bonds are strengthened precisely in that which is not known". And he pointed out an idea for his next steps: "The important thing is to renew ourselves and be comfortable in uncertainty."

In the summer, the recent graduates will carry out their professional internships in centers such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), Fundación Coppel (Mexico City), Bombas Gens Centre d'Art (Valencia), the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (Madrid), the Balenciaga Museum (Getaria, Gipuzkoa), TEA: Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), the Centro Huarte de Arte Contemporáneo (Huarte, Navarra), the CA2M Museum (Madrid), CCCB: Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and Fundación Luis Seoane (La Coruña), among others.

In September, the last challenge will arrive, the presentation of its work de Fin de Master's Degree, consisting of an exhibition proposal carried out in groups. From the projects, one will be selected to be exhibited at the conference room Torre del Museo next season, with the support of the Palazuelo Foundation, which also collaborates in the curatorial journey.
