The University of Navarra organizes a poetry-musical recital of literature in Judeo-Spanish

It is celebrated on the occasion of the 5th International Ladino Day and at the framework of the workshop 'Tangible and intangible Sepharad'.

The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra celebrates this Wednesday, April 11, apoetic-musical recital of literature in Judeo-Spanish. The activity is open and free of charge.

Luvia de Estreyias y Rozas en Sefarad' is organized by the ICS's project 'Creativity and Cultural Heritage' of the ICS and is held on the occasion of the 5th International Ladino Day and at the framework of the workshop 'Tangible and Intangible Sepharad'.

The recitation will be done at position by Matilde Gini Barnatán and Viviana Rajel Barnatán, directors of the program 'Luz de Sefarad' and 'Emisión Sefarad', on Radio Exterior de España. Pablo Sallabera will play the guitar and baglama.

They will perform poetry by Avner Pérez, Margalit Matitiahu, Matilda Koen Sarano (Israel), Isahar Avzaradel (Greece), Izan Konorti (Bulgaria), David Fintz Altabé, David Simán (USA), Juan Carlos García Hoyuelos (Spain), Lina Koen Albukrek, Matilde Gini Barnatán and Viviana Rajel Barnatán (Argentina).

The language 'djudeo-espanyola', also called Sephardic, 'djudezmo' or 'espanyolit', is a language with a base Spanish-Andalusian that was enriched with the linguistic sources of the countries where the Jews settled after the expulsion, from Vienna to North Africa.
