PhD in Law with specialization in Criminology, she joined the project 'Education of affectivity and human sexuality' in October 2015.
Maria Stozek joined last October the project 'Education of affectivity and human sexuality' of Institute for Culture and Society (ICS), where she focuses her research on the primary prevention of intimate partner violence and its application to the field of sexual affectivity Education .
"I am interested in problems related to criminology and human rights, and particularly in the prevention of violence against women," she says.
"Multilevel and complex problems, such as violence against women, cannot be solved in isolation by a single scientific discipline . At final, there is a need for experts from various disciplines to make joint efforts to work together with the goal to design effective science-based violence prevention programs," explains Stozek.
Maria Stozek holds a PhD in Law, with specialization in Criminology from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. In addition, she also holds two Master's degrees in Law from Harvard University and Jagiellonian University. She has worked at department for Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. His stays include, among others, the University of Heidelberg, the high school de Salud Carlos III in Madrid, the Central European University in Budapest or the University of Indiana in the USA.
