Considered by MIT as one of the 35 most innovative young Europeans for her research around compression algorithms, Idoia Ochoa is currently researching the genome at the cellular level.

After spending ten years in the United States, first at Master's Degree at Stanford University, and then as Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, she is currently part of the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Tecnun University. Her research around development of algorithms to study the human genome, for which the MIT (high school of Massachusetts Technology) included her in the list of the most innovative young European women, contains two lines of work: on the one hand, the compression of the genomic data and, on the other hand, its application in personalized medicine.
