"Do not let the fire that drives us to always go forward be extinguished, do not settle for the superficial."
Philosopher Enric Fernández Gel (FIA'15) participated in the Alumni "i" event.

Last Monday, April 7, more than 750 senior students from the different Degrees of the Pamplona and San Sebastián campus attended the Alumni "i", an event designed to welcome them to the Alumni community, made up of more than 140,000 alumni of the University of Navarra.
The event, which took place in the Theater of the Museum of the University of Navarra, and was co-hosted by Íñigo Gutiérrez (Tecnun'98 | PhD'04), director of Alumni and Valeria Solano (COM'23), team member communication of the service, was full of surprises, games and musical moments, as was the final performance of the group Sal del Himalaya, who were in charge of putting the musical finishing touch to the event.
Over the course of an hour, attendees had the opportunity to listen to Enric Fernández Gel(FIA'15) philosopher and youtuber since 2016, through his channel Adictos a la Philosophy and author of the book ¿Hay Philosophy en tu nevera? In his session, Fernández Gel was "accompanied" by Thales of Miletus, Socrates, Nietzsche, Diogenes of Synope and Baruch Spinoza, through whom he wanted to share with the attendees some learnings. "I want to talk to you about 5 philosophers because, first, you don't always have the opportunity to boast about the geniuses of your discipline in front of so many people, but second, because I believe that each of these thinkers can give you a little teaching for tomorrow, as they did with me". Do not give up in the face of obstacles, but let them become an impulse, an opportunity; or the importance of being aware of our limits "the road to knowledge gets stuck when we think we already know everything. So do not forget that, no matter how much you have learned over the years, there is always more to learn", were some of the teachings that the philosopher wanted to share. Fernández Gel encouraged us to value and enjoy the small, simple things and to continue feeding the yearning for the infinite that all men carry in their hearts "the University has been an ideal time in your lives to fuel this infinite desire: lifelong friendships, loves and heartbreaks, joys, sorrows, achievements, failures, good and bad exams... everything has gone directly to feed and grow this insatiable inner fire. And that's a good thing! It's the fire that drives us to always go forward, to never settle for the superficial. Don't let it go out.
The event was attended by the president, María Iraburu (BIO'87 | PhD'92) , who was in charge of the final words, in which she wanted to highlight the professionalism and humanity in the style that identifies the way the university works and with which they would like students to go out into the professional world. "There are thousands of ways to be a student and alumni of the University of Navarra, but there is something we all share, which is a sense of human professionalism, quality and warmth."
The president also wanted to emphasize the gratitude of the university to all the students "as president I want to thank you. Thank you for these years, for your effort, for the hours of study, of fun, thank you for the effort to live the University of Navarra to the fullest.
After the group photo that closed the event, attendees were able to enjoy the music of DJ Gimeno outside the Museum.
