Itziar Monasterio (ISSA '17): "Receiving the award Extraordinary End of degree program has been a source of pride for me, my family and my friends; I didn't expect it".
ISSA - School of Management Assistants has awarded him this distinction in recognition of his transcript academic achievements.
Each year, ISSA - School of Management Assistants makes submission of the award Extraordinary End of degree program to student with the best academic transcript , in recognition of their effort, skills and performance. The distinction corresponding to the 2016-2017 academic year has been awarded to Itziar Monasterio (ISSA '17). "Although I did not expect to receive it, I am grateful for this award, as sample that every effort is rewarded. It has been a source of pride for me, my family and my friends," she said.
Itziar arrived in Pamplona with the nerves of someone who is about to start her programs of study university studies, but her expectations were more than fulfilled: "It's been the best four years of my life. At ISSA we have had a great time and at the University you meet many people you know you will be able to count on in the future. I also have very good memories of the professors, the classes, the high school Mayorof my Erasmus stay? It has been an unforgettable time".
Asked about the tricks to overcome the degree program, not only with success, but also with award, she explains that "with effort and perseverance you can achieve anything you set your mind to". She says that although receiving this recognition was not one of her goals, "whenever I do something, I always try to do my best. In addition, the academic programme offered at School is very complete and met my expectations. I have always tried to get that interesting point out of each subject, so that studying was made much easier for me," she says. However, she does have some advice for those who are still studying at university: "Make an effort, don't get overwhelmed and never give up because, with good organisation, everything works out well in the end. If some subject is not their favourite, I would encourage them to try to find something that interests them. And another committee: to set themselves achievable goals that will motivate them to keep going.
When she picked up her diploma Itziar went to France for a six-month internship at the Spanish Consulate. "In addition to obtaining the degree scroll accreditation, I had the opportunity to improve my language", she explains. On her return, she started working as an Executive Assistant at Microsoft headquarters in Madrid, where she is still working today: "I found the position through the ISSA-School of Management Assistants job listings and I couldn't be happier. During this time, I have been able to apply the knowledge I acquired at degree program, especially the language skills, which are essential in today's world of work. The courses speech Oral and Written, as well as Computer Science, have also been very useful.
