The Parliament of Navarra has been the scene of a lecture to position by Celestino Arteta, head of the ICT Curricular Integration Department, and Gabriel Rubio, head of the Information and Communication Technologies and Projects Section, on the curricular integration of educational technologies.

At framework of the activities of the 'Civic Parliament', an initiative of the University of Navarra and the Regional Parliament, Arteta and Rubio explained the origin and development of some of the interesting experiences of curricular integration of educational technologies, emphasizing how they have contributed to "overcome the dependence on the traditional textbook" and, therefore, the "methodology" used in the classroom.

Thus, after underlining the "scope" of the change model operated in the centers, Rubio clarified that, as attested by numerous programs of study, the success of technology integration programs "does not lie so much in technical or scientific aspects as in humanistic factors related to the capacity for exploration, creation or enjoyment".

Along these lines, Rubio pointed out that the principles associated with a Education program capable of bringing out the best in student body have to do with "emotional intelligence, interdisciplinary learning and the formats of assessment capable of showing the competencies of the students".

After noting the "assistance" nature of the technological tools, and noting that the programs "vary greatly depending on the contexts, whether at the territorial level or at the level of classroom", Celestino Arteta has pointed out their contribution to the promotion of "cognitive skills. Beyond their condition of supporting curricular and learning objectives, it is a matter of building knowledge and for this purpose, the projects of group are particularly appropriate".

The core topic lies in the "way of integrating technologies in the classroom, since the mere installation of computers or tablets does not necessarily change anything. This gives us an idea of the importance of the New Technologies Program and Education (PNTE) as far as training of academic staff is concerned", Arteta corroborated.

In conclusion, they have highlighted the "good practices" in the field educational of new technologies that are being carried out in Navarra, so much so that "some of them have been result awarded in national calls".

The connection of 'Parlamento Cívico' with new technologies responds to purpose to reinforce its final goal , which is none other than to serve as a platform for meeting of ideas, study and analysis of the current reality.
