The II International Workshop of project on Education of character in Latin America is held in Mexico City.
It takes place in December at the Universidad Panamericana and is organized by the School of Education and Psychology and the Institute for Culture and Society

The II International Workshop of the University of Navarra's project 'Investigar y promote la Education del carácter en escuelas de secundaria en Latinoamérica' will be held on December 1-2, 2016 at the Universidad Panamericana (Mexico City).
It is organized by the School of Education and Psychology (group of research Education , citizenship and character) and the Institute for Culture and Society of the University of Navarra, and funded by the World Templeton Charity Foundation.
A total of 25 specialists will participate, including academics, professionals from educational institutions and public policy makers.
The goal of the activity is to reflect on the nature and initiatives of the Education of character in the world and to generate a forum of discussion on the educational policies in the three countries studied in the project: Mexico, Argentina and Colombia.
In the first workshop, Concepción Naval, director of project, will give an overview of mission statement and the objectives of the team. Subsequently, researcher Daniel Moulin will focus on the training of identity through the Education of character. Experts from Mexico, Argentina and Colombia will then present the highlights of their countries' educational systems.
The following day, researchers Ángel Sobrino and Apolinar G. Varela will present results of the Delphi questionnaires, and together with Juan Pablo Dabdoub will explain the cases that will be addressed during the work fieldwork. The workshop will close with a roundtable on educational practices and a colloquium, moderated by Aurora Bernal.

Speakers included experts from centers of excellence, including framework Gemignani, Professor at McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts at Duquesne University (USA); Abdeljalil Akkari, Professor at the School of Psychology and Sciences of the Education at the University of Geneva (Switzerland); Marvin Berkowitz, Co-Director of the Center for Character and Citizenship and Sanford N. McDonnell Professor of of Character at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (USA). McDonnell Professor of Character Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (USA); and James Arthur and Tom Harrison, director and director of development respectively of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues at the University of Birmingham (UK).
