The project of research 'Integrated Palliative Care - Insup-C', funded by the European Union, held its 2015 general assembly at the University of Navarra on November 9 and 10. The University hosted the meeting on the occasion of the participation of the ATLANTES Program of the Institute for Culture and Society in Insup-C.
A total of twenty researchers from academic centers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy and Spain participated.
Throughout the workshop, several meetings were held where experts had the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions on the research they are carrying out for the development and the promotion of palliative care, at the framework of Insup-C.
Researchers at project agree on the need to develop "integrated palliative care", which means that it is essential to achieve the joint involvement and work of all the professionals involved in the process in order to provide personalized care for the individual needs of each patient.
InSup-C was born in 2013 as a project of research that brings together a large issue of European countries and is planned to last four years. Among its objectives, it aims to find out how best to provide palliative care to patients with serious illnesses who are already at the end of their lives.
