The animated film 'Cher Amí', co-produced by the Catalan business Acció, Euroview (production company of the School of Communication of the University of Navarra), TV3 and Digital Dreams Films, has been nominated for the Goya Awards in the category of 'Best Animated Film'.

The film, which blends traditional two-dimensional animation with the latest 3D technological research, is a story based on true events that took place during World War I in France, when a group of carrier pigeons saved the lives of a battalion caught in the crossfire.

In addition, this is the first film of these characteristics in which a production company from Navarre participates. "Using this technique allows us to investigate new systems for work, combining the best of each method: 3D gives depth and credibility to the environment, and 2D gives great expressiveness to the characters," explain Euroview's directors.

The project started several years ago and after a agreement in 2005 between Acció and Euroview -manager for the 3D production of the sets - the production phase began. The production company has also conceived 'Cher Amí' as a learning opportunity for students of Audiovisual Communication at the University of Navarra, who have had the opportunity to learn in depth the different stages of making a film of this subject.
