33 teachers from high school diploma from all over Spain have participated in the course "Teaching Chemistry in 2011", organized by the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra in the framework of the International Year of the Chemistry.

Departments The initiative, which lasted two days, included experimental sessions, conferences and colloquiums at position by professors and researchers from Chemistry and Soil Science, Chemistry Organic and Pharmaceutics, and Physics and Applied Mathematics of the academic center.

Among the experiments carried out with the teachers was "CSI Pamplona: Chemistry forensics for beginners", at position by Dr. Íñigo Navarro, which consisted of tests to identify illicit substances using detection kits, analysis of blood traces and fingerprint development methods.

Professor Cristina Sola, for her part, showed "The magic world of Chemistry" through simple and spectacular experiments that demonstrated basic concepts such as pH, acid-base reaction, etc.; while Professor José Ramón Isasi used household substances, such as tea or a scouring pad, which are used to make a dye, and diapers, to explain the absorption of liquids.
