In the new episode of Fragments of History, philosopher Francisco Santamaría outlines the life and bequest of Luis Adaro Ruiz-Falcó (1914-2006), an engineer, businessman and historian from Asturias who left a deep mark on the public life of Asturias throughout the 20th century.

Adaro, the first supernumerary of Opus Dei in Gijón, lived his faith in close relationship with his professional and social commitment, always with an eye to improving his environment. From business initiatives to cultural projects, his story offers a concrete example of secular spirituality incarnated in action.

Francisco Santamaría, PhD in Philosophy from the University of Navarra and researcher of the Cultures, Religions and Human Rightsgroup of the International University of La Rioja, is also the author of an article in the journal Studia et Documenta where he analyzes the influence of the spirituality of Opus Dei in the multiple facets of Luis Adaro's life.
