The University's Navarra Center for International Development among the best think tanks in the world

A study by the University of Pennsylvania ranks it as one of the best think tanks affiliated with a university.

The Navarra Center for International Development (NCID) has been ranked among the best think tanks in the world by the Global Go To Think Tank Index Report of 2015, prepared by the University of Pennsylvania (USA). The NCID, which belongs to the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra, is included in the category of the best think tanks affiliated to a university, where it ranks 57th out of 88.

It ranks above other prestigious centers such as the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University (USA) or the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, at high school Massachusetts Technology (USA).

For the elaboration of the ranking, which the University of Pennsylvania has been carrying out for nine years, 6,846 think tanks have been analyzed, of which 1,931 are from North America and 1,770 are European.

Navarra Center for International Development

The Navarra Center for International Development is a group of research of Institute for Culture and Society of the University of Navarra. It is made up of an interdisciplinary team of researchers: economists, political scientists and sociologists who search promote for viable solutions to situations of extreme poverty in developing countries development in Africa, Asia and Latin America

One of its main strategies is to study those nations or regions where specific policies have been highly successful in alleviating the poverty of a population. Through the applied research , NCID seeks to generate ideas that solve chronic social problems associated with poverty, such as corruption and violence, among others.

To achieve this, it seeks to deepen three lines of development that are closely related to each other: the quality of the institutions in each country, the transfer of technologies and the assessment impact of policies and programs.
