"For me, hospital pedagogy is the most beautiful profession: all children have the right to Education, whatever their circumstances". So says Itziar Olóriz, an alumni of the School of Education and Psychology on the day on which the Day of the Hospitalized Child is celebrated.

The graduate, who finished her programs of study at the Double Degree in Education Primary School and Pedagogy at the University of Navarra last year, is currently doing a scholarship PIE (postgraduate program de Iniciación a la business) at the Hospital Pedagogy Unit of the University of Navarra Clinic, whose manager is Belén Ocha, also a professor at School of Education and Psychology.

The goal of this scholarship, which manages Career Servicesis for graduates to have their first professional experience in their field of knowledge, and to provide an opportunity for companies or institutions and for student, to establish a professional link.

Specifically, Itziar's goal is to provide support in psychoeducational care and intervention for children hospitalized at CUN and also to accompany their families. "I coordinate the daily work on the ward, always hand in hand with Belén Ochoa," she explains.

Olóriz, asked about her work during the status caused by the coronavirus, comments that "the coordination work has been very hard" but that fortunately they have been able to carry out the necessary follow-up with all their usual patients. "Belén and I live glued to the screens," she adds. However, despite this effort, Itziar values her experience very positively: "It has been one of the best experiences of my life. I couldn't have been in a better place.

With her sights set on the future, this educator and teacher says she can't imagine a better place to carry out her professional degree program and highlights what she has learned less than two months after finishing her scholarship: "Here you develop optimism, strength, the ability to organize and adapt to all circumstances, but above all work as a team. I believe that Belén and I are such a team. And I can't forget our dear students who did their internships this year: Leyre, Mikel and Alex".
